Dreams Can Come True (Cottage Remodel)
There is no doubt that dreams can come true especially for Noel and Janet Desch. They've owned their cottage on Cayuga Lake since 1994 and knew it needed updating. The transformation was quite dramatic. After Noel orchestrated raising and moving their cottage to "new heights" (raised 11' to make room for a 5' concrete wall underneath the cottage as well as moving the building back 12' from the lake due to flooding problems), Crown built a new addition adjoining to the front side of the cottage creating a roomy sunroom. Maintenance-free and energy efficient low-e/argon trapezoid picture windows, sliders and double-hung windows were installed so that the view of the lake can easily be enjoyed. The solid vinyl patio door with low-e/argon glass adds to the energy savings as well as the cottage beauty.
"We absolutely love it! Our neighbors are all jealous. The addition has opened up the cottage so light and airy now. The grouting Brian (Hollenbeck) did on the tile floor is absolutely perfect. Just loved Brian; and all the guys were so nice." Janet Desch.
Noel reminded me (Jeff) of my master craftsman grandfather, who at 75 years of age, was caught by his wife installing roof shingles on their house. Noel, of course, is much younger but possesses the same old-school craftsmanship and boundless energy as many of the projects around the cottage Noel built himself, including the deck.
Brian Hollenbeck was the master craftsman who, along with his crew, took the Deschs' outdated lake cottage to a shining masterpiece. Thank you, Noel and Janet, for your confidence in Crown Construction. We wish you many years of lake side relaxation!
