Community Service
Community-sponsored events such as the ones listed below are a blessing to be part of. Our hats off to the organizers and a special thank you to everyone involved.
American Cancer Society Relay for Life
For several years, Crown Construction has entered a relay team for the Ithaca Relay for Life. There aren’t too many of us that are not affected by cancer in one way or another. It’s a great way to reflect on our loved ones that have succumbed, to remember and honor those that are struggling and those that are Survivors.
Southern Tier Aids Program
In the fall, Crown Construction has entered a team to participate in the 100-mile ride around Cayuga Lake. Typically this special day is filled with lots of camaraderie and beautiful lake views.
Pud’s Run
Major sponsor of the benefit run for fallen Ithaca police officer, Mike Padula.
Salvation Army
In years past, a full-course Christmas dinner, complimented with homemade pies, has been enthusiastically prepared and served by Crown Construction employees and their families. Approximately 200 people came through the Salvation Army doors for this heartwarming meal. Throughout dinner, Mr. & Mrs. Claus greeted the children with open arms bearing gifts for each child. This was truly a blessed event enjoyed by everyone and especially uplifting for us here at Crown.
Make-A-Wish Foundation
Crown Construction made a wish come true for a terminally ill young man and his family with a two-story garage complete with a workshop to enable him to pursue his interest in working on dirt bikes and motorcycles making it possible for him to compete in races.
Family Connections
Family Connections is a NYS Adoption Agency, which opened its doors in November 1994. They are a private not-for-profit tax-exempt organization that operates an Adoption Program and a Pregnancy Help program.
Crown Construction along with the Tompkins Cortland Builders Remodeling Association, generously volunteered their help, built a warm and inviting new front porch. We also repaired the existing front porch roof and installed new windows, siding, and two entrance doors as well as running electric for a new sign. The new face-lift certainly made the building more attractive and accessible for clients as well as protecting the building from the weather.
